| Summary | The aim of the current project is to assess the level of correlation between organic matter composition in deep sea sediments and benthic fauna population and activity. To this end a number of multicore have been/are being analysed for lipids, carbohydrates and proteins, using a molecular approach. Quantitative data are available for individual compounds; these have been quality controlled, indicating a precision of measurement of better than 10 per cent for most individual compounds. |
