Description | |
Summary | The project is part of a larger monitoring programme: Intensive Monitoring of the Pelagic Environment. The objectives are to estimate the sedimentation rate of the produced organic matter in the water body. Resuspension is minimised by the rational construction and placement of sediment traps. With the dataset at hand we are able to follow long-term trends in sediment dry weight and in organic and inorganic composition of the particulate material. The dataset will also provide valuable background data for systems modelling. The sedimentation is monitored at one coastal station and two open sea stations. |
