Description
Summary

Surveys were primarily designed to determine the distribution and abundance of demersal fish species and to monitor environmental parameters. The initial trawl-grid (1977-1981) comprised 47 primary positions around which duplicate hauls were carried out. In 1982 the number of stations was increased to 75 to give a better geographical cover and only single hauls were carried out at each position. The survey has also been used to monitor caesium levels in the North Sea.
