Description
Summary

The data are collected from a series of intertidal transects whose origins are marked by posts. Transect separation is 400m, and sample stations are 50m apart down the transects. The data set records the number of cockles per sample station aged in the field as spat and others (1982-1988) or spat, 1 year old and 2 years and older (1989 to date). From each transect 3 samples are retained for weighing and detailed ageing. Approximately 350 samples are collected each year.
