Description | |
Summary | Data were collected to study seasonal and temporal aspects of the crab reproductive cycle, to provide morphometric data including length weight relationships and to give fecundity estimates. Maturity and morphometric data, samples of crabs (5 from each 5mm carapace width size grouping for each sex), were collected by laboratory staff or sent directly to the laboratory. Initially, samples were from 3 Channel ports (Newlyn, Brixham and Selsey) but some samples were taken off research vessel cruises. Between 1993 and 1994, samples were from North Norfolk. For fecundity estimates, samples were mainly supplied from research vessel cruises. |
