Description | |
Summary | The health-resort-recreation resources are among the most significant natural resources of Georgia. Their effective use can cause substantial economical and financial development. Among resort resources of Black Sea shore zone 11km length and 30-50m width section between the rivers Supsa and Natanebi with different quality of magnetite concentration sands is distinguished for its uniqueness. Sand bath with magnetic characteristic is in medical use in Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Evpatoria and in other countries for a long time. Study of Ureki magnetic sands features and their medical use was established by the workers of I.Koniashvili Institute of Health-Resort Study and Physiotherapy (G.Ushveridze, V.Toxadze, 1963; N.Mgeladze 1961; Z.Danelia 1967; S.Blanutsa, E.Elizbarashvili, N.Kartsivadze 1982; M.Tabidze 1985; V.Kikoria 1977 and others). Positive effect of Ureki sands constant magnetic field on patients suffered from heart diseases was confirmed. While complex utilization of Ureki resort factors along with magnetic sands bath, revealed positive effect on treatment of patients suffered from hypertension (1st -2nd stage), coronal atherosclerosis (1st stage), myocardial dystrophy, acquired heart defects, chronic thrombophlebitis of extremities, diseases of support-moving apparatus, peripheral nervous system etc. Ureki gains its uniqueness in comparison with other Black See resorts just because of this characteristic that requires ecological and microclimatic investigation of this resort zone. Thus, complex ecological and microclimatic investigation using newest equipment and modern methodologies that will sustain effective utilization and practical development of health resort zone medical factors, is actual and timely. |
