Study of hydrology and pollution by heavy metal and hydrocarbons in the bay of Bou-Ismail, west of Algiers, Algeria. This work is done under the project untitled "Fertility and pollution along the Algerian coast". The aim is to study the evolution of organic pollution (petroleum hydrocarbons) and inorganic (heavy metals) as function of depth in the sediment and bathymetry of the coast seaward. The study of evolution of oil pollution in water depending of the distance from the coast was also performed. The hydrological parameters were measured on board. The water sampling for analysis of poly aromatic hydrocarbons was made by a glass bottle at 1 m at the front of the ship which sails at very low speed. The sediment sampling was conducted by a "Van Venn" grab.
