| Objectives and Narrative |
The objectives of this cruise were:
(1) Deploying a current meter mooring at 57N, 9W. Accomplished, but status not checked at the end of the cruise due to time lost through Challenger assisting a trawler in distress. (2) Work the Rockall via Anton Dohrn Seamount (Ellett Line) and Rockall-Malin Head hydrographic sections. Accomplished. (3) Net tows to collect crab larvae for Liverpool University Port Erin Laboratory. Tows successfully undertaken but crab larvae were not found. (4) Collection of shelf sediment Shipek Grab samples for Aberystwyth University. Accomplished. (5) Collection of large-volume water samples for radio-caesium measurements. Accomplished (6) Near real-time supply of temperature profiles to the Met Office. Accomplished. |
