| Objectives and Narrative |
The objectives are to deploy telemetry buoy and to deploy and recover the Coastal Observatory ADCP moorings and smart buoy; to recover moored instrumentation, i.e. STABLE, PMP, Wave Buoy and ADCP frame at the mouth of the River Dee. Also to carry out CTD observations for at least a tidal cycle in the Welsh Channel and the Hilbre Swash, to study turbulence and SPM processes. To Carry out a side scan sonar survey of the Hilbre Swash.
In the following narrative all times are UMT The Prince Madog was loaded on the 15/04/2007, ADCP frames and moorings. We set sail at 0700 on the 16/04/2007 to Coastal Observatory station 21 site B and deployed and recovered ADCP frames. We arrived Hilbre at 19:00 and poceed to anchor to carry out a 25 hour CTD station and grab sample. Last CTD at 16:30 17/04/2007. Recover Wave Buoy at 17:00, recovered STABLE III at 17:58 and left Hilbre Chanel 20:00; arrived Vittoria Docks 23:30. Unload STABLE and loaded COBS frames. Set sail at 06:30 18/04/2006 to COBS station 1 site A and deplo ADCP 11:40. Sail to the Welsh Channel. 13:00 we anchored in the Welsh Channel and started a CTD anchored station until 19:00 on 19/034/2007. We lift anchor and recovered adcp and mini-STABLE. Got to station 21 recovered and deployed SMART Buoy. Proceed to carry out the COBS CTD grid until 20/04/2007 at 09:30, sailed back to Menai Bridge. |
