ObjectivesThis cruise was a partial occupation of the Drake Passage CTD section. It was hampered by mechanical breakdown of the aircraft that should have taken the scientists to the ship. Therefore personnel on board were asked to undertake whatever measurements they could. 9 CTD stations were completed in the southern half of the section.

The stations are on WOCE section SR1b in eastern Drake Passage.
Underway systems were run throughout
Brian King is the NOC contact, but was not on board during the measurement period.

The remainder of the scheduled CTD section was done on a cruise in April 2011, led by Andy Watson of UEA - cruise JR276. JR276 was also a "recovery" cruise for the failed DIMES cruise in 2010.
