1. To obtain information on spatial patterns of abundance of differnet size- and age-classes of demersal fish in the northern Irish Sea. 2. To obtain indices of abundance of whiting, haddock, cod and herring for use in stock assessment. 3. To estimate the abundance of sprat and herring in the western and eastern Irish Sea using acoustics. 4. To quantify external parasite loads in whiting and cod, by area. 5. To collect samples of flatfish for feeding studies. 6. To record quantities of marine litter in trawl catches. |
