ObjectivesThe measurements were made as a contribution to the U.S. Clivar / U.K. RAPID study of interannual variability of the North Atlantic Ocean's meridional overturning circulation. Along Station W, a measurement line running from the shelf break south of Woods Hole towards Bermuda below a Jason altimeter satellite track the objectives were:
1. To occupy a hydrographic section (24 full depth CTD stations).
2. To deploy a Spray Glider at Station 22 for another WHOI project, piggybacking on the cruise.
