| Objectives | Aims
1. Groundtruthing (using Drop Camera and Grabs) of the deeper subtidal (>20m) area of the Padstow Bay rMCZ. 2. Groundtruthing (using Drop Camera and Grabs) of the deeper subtidal (>20m) area of the Hartland Point to Tintagel rMCZ. 3. 100% Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) survey of the Isles of Scilly (Bristow to the Stones) rMCZ. Groundtruthing (using Drop Camera and Grabs) across the same area. 4. 100% Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) survey of the South of the Isles of Scilly rMCZ. Groundtruthing (using Drop Camera and Grabs) across the same area. Plan RV Endeavour will be mobilised from Lowestoft on 18th January 2013. The vessel will initially transit to the Padstow Bay rMCZ where groundtruthing survey (using drop camera and grabs) will be carried out across the deeper subtidal region (>20m) of the site. On completion of the survey at Padstow Bay the vessel will transit to the Hartland Point to Tintagel rMCZ where a similar groundtruthing survey (using Drop camera and grabs) will be carried out within the deeper subtidal region (>20m) of the site. On completion of the groundtruthing survey at the Hartland Point to Tintagel rMCZ the vessel will transit to the Isles of Scilly (Bristow to the Stones) rMCZ where MBES survey will commence. On completion of the acoustic survey, the same area will be groundtruthed using a combination of Drop Camera and Grabbing techniques as appropriate. On completion of the survey at Bristow to the Stones rMCZ the vessel will transit to the South of the Isles of Scilly rMCZ where full coverage MBES survey will commence. On completion of the acoustic survey, the same area will be groundtruthed using a combination of Drop Camera and Grabbing techniques as appropriate. The vessel will then transit back to Lowestoft for demobilisation on the 31st January 2013. |
