| Objectives | Aim
The survey will carry out baseline monitoring at North-West Jones Bank MCZ and The Canyons MCZ. The survey will also incorporate the recovery and deployment of a wave rider buoy off the Isles of Scilly if possible. Plan Following departure from Lowestoft there will be approximately three day transit to site. Depending on conditions when nearing the south west approaches the target site will be decided upon. Similarly, the wave rider buoy will deployed at the most convenient point to reduce impact on the primary survey. Survey operations will involve underwater camera sampling from both Camera sledge and Drop Frame as well as sediment sampling operations using a Day grab, mini Hamon grab and NIOZ corer. There is also potential for multibeam echosounder and sidescan sonar survey but these are not the ultimate priority. |
