Purpose	Research
Objectives	The cruise is part of the ICES coordinated herring larvae surveys. Recruitment is an important driver of spawning stock dynamics. For North Sea herring recruitment data is only available for part of the stock, i.e. the autumn spawners from the Shetland, Buchan and Central North Sea spawning areas, and no information is available for the Downs area. Therefore a Downs recruitment survey (DRS) was performed in April. The aim of this survey is to provide the missing recruitment information for 'Downs' herring.
