Objectives1. To carry out trials of the high power 100 kHz echo sounder,
together with measurements of target strengths.
2. Trials of the modified acoustic arch system on ground and midwater trawls.

A number of records were taken of target strength from single fish. Underwater television was used at night to look at the loch bed and the fish in Loch Torridon. Pictures were taken of the bottom. Excellent results were obtained from the acoustic arch units. Tests of the 100 kHz equipment were made
