ObjectivesScallop dredging commenced on 5th and continued until the 19th. Mara then made passage to Buckie. Gale force winds limited the amount of dredging carried out on the Ayrshire coast. It was possible to work most days in Loch Fyne, Kilbronnan Sound, the Kyles of Bute and round Arran. 89 hauls were made and most hauls with the 6ft standard dredge.

Results:
Scallops are widespread in the Clyde and were taken at most fishing stations. Some of the stocks had been heavily fished. Growth-ring comparisons were made between the catches. Large catches of queens (Chlamys operoularis) were obtained off the north-east coast of Arran and in Skipness Bay.
