| Objectives | In 2018 a reconnaissance survey was performed in the area to study linear bedforms on the seafloor of the Dover Strait. The bathymetric data recorded in 2018 showed some problems related to calibration issues. With this cruise we plan to obtain new bathymetrical data in a small sub-area in order to assess the consistency of the 2018 data. In addition, also geological data (grab samples) and video footage (using a video frame) will be taken for more/better ground-truth of the geophysical data. This should finally allow a sound interpretation the origin of these enigmatic seafloor features. |
