To continue the long time series of hydrographic sections from Scotland to Rockall and its recent extension to Iceland (Extended Ellett Line) to identify the pathways for the warm water flow into the Norwegian Sea and to quantify the interannual to decadal variability in this circulaton.
To study the outflow of deep water from the Faroe Bank Channel with the objective of quantifying the climate variability in the deep water exiting the FBC & to analyse the downstream evolution of the deep water as it decends into the Iceland Basin.
