Cruise period1988-09-03 — 1988-09-15
StatusCompleted
Port of departureGreat Yarmouth, United Kingdom
Port of returnGreat Yarmouth, United Kingdom
PurposeResearch
ObjectivesOne of a series of 15 North Sea Project survey cruises, each sailing the same predetermined track continuously measuring temperature, salinity, chlorophyll, suspended solids, currents, bathymetry and irradiance. A CTD+fluorometer+transmissomter+lightmeter package with a 12-bottle rosette was deployed on as many of 127 pre-determined stations as possible. Water samples were analysed for chlorophyll, suspended load, nutrients and sometimes metals. Weather permitting, six current meter moorings were serviced on each survey cruise.
